Question & Answer

Q: How long are the classes?
A: The classes are an hour a day, once a week, 4 weeks a month.

Q: What medium do you teach first to kids? Why?
A: We start with oil pastels and as the kids get a better understanding, we will explore other mediums. Oil pastels come in a wide variety of colors, are easy to handle and to use, can blend well unlike crayons, are less stressful on little hands than pencils and are fairly priced.

Q: Why do you not teach just drawing to begin with?
A: Kids prefer and enjoy colorful work versus black and white. Learning color theory and such also opens doors to their knowledge.

Q: Do you have an educational background in art?
A: Our art teacher is basically a science student, who has been very passionate about art and creativity from a very young age. As a self-taught artist, she reflects on her experiences to make the classes a more interesting, interactive and spontaneous exposure to art.

Q: What are the mediums that you use?
A: We started with acrylics as a child and have continued to use the same along with pastels, watercolors, oils, clay, etc
